The iPad® was released on April 3, 2010, and was a series of Tablets developed by Apple Inc. and manufactured by Foxconn, and Pegatron.


iPad 1st Generation

The iPad 1st Generation was released on April 3, 2010, and was the first and only iPad without a camera.

It came in 16, 32, or 64GB Models, each with 256MB of DDR RAM.

It was released to run iPhone OS 3.2, and is upgradable to iOS 5.1.1.

Also, the iPad 1st Generation used the Apple A4 System on Chip, with a ARM Cortex-A8 CPU @ 1GHz.

iPad 2

The iPad 2 was released on March 11, 2011, and featured a new model that allows cellular networking.

The iPad 2 also features a dual-core Apple A5 Chip. It was shipped with iOS 4.0, and the WiFi only model is upgradable to iOS 9.3.5, while the WiFi and Cellular model is upgradable to iOS 9.3.6.

It came in 16, 32, or 64GB Models, each with 512MB of DDR2 1066MHz RAM, and a PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU.

iPad 3rd Generation

The iPad 3rd Generation was released on March 16, 2012, and featured an Apple A5X Chip.

It was shipped with iOS 5.1, and similar to the iPad 2, the WiFi only model is upgradable to iOS 9.3.5, while the WiFi and Cellular model is upgradable to iOS 9.3.6.

Th iPad 3rd Generation came in 16, 32, or 64GB models, with 1GB of LPDDR2 RAM.

It also came with a Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU @ 1GHz, and an PowerVR SGX543MP4 GPU. 

iPad 4th Generation

The iPad 4th generation was released on November 2, 2012, and the Cellular model is compatible with LTE.

The iPad 4th Generation came in 16, 32, 64, and 128GB Models with 1GB (1000000KB) of LPDDR2 RAM. It was shipped with iOS 6.0, and upgradable to iOS 10.3.4.

It also comes with an Apple A6X Chip, a Dual-core Apple Swift CPU @ 1.4GHz, and a Quad-core PowerVR SGX554MP4 GPU.

iPad 6th Generation

The iPad 6th Generation was released on March 27, 2018, and is also called iPad 2018.

It has a 9.7 in Display (2048x1536) at 264ppi with a 4:3 Aspect Ratio.

It was shipped with iOS 11.3, and is upgradable to the latest version of iPadOS 13. It also comes with an Apple A10 Fusion Chip, which allows an Apple Pencil to be connected. 

iPad 7th Generation

The iPad 7th Generation was released on September 10, 2019, along with the iPhone 11 and the 11 Pro series.

It was released with iPad OS 13.1, and is upgradable to the latest version of iPadOS. It comes in 32, or 128GB Models, each with 3GB LPDDR4 SDRAM. It also comes with an Apple A10 Fusion System on Chip, and an Apple M10 Motion Coprocessor.
