Macintosh Centris

The Macintosh Centris is a series of Personal Computers designed by Apple, and was announced in 1992, but got discontinued in 1993, which left 3 products in this family.


Macintosh Centris 610

The Macintosh Centris 610 was released on February 10, 1993.

It has a Motorola 68LC040 CPU at 20MHz and a 80, 230, or 500MB Hard Drive.

Also, it has 1MB of Macintosh ROM with 4 or 8MB of 72-pin RAM, which is expandable to 68MB by using two 32MB Modules and the 4MB of onboard RAM.

It supports a single display, but another one can be added by using a Video Card.

Macintosh Centris 650

The Macintosh Centris 650 was released on February 10, 1993, along with the Macintosh Centris 610.

It has a Motorola 68040 CPU at 25MHz with a integrated Floating Point Unit.

Also, it has 1MB of Macintosh ROM with an optional 4 or 8MB of RAM, which is expandable to 132MB for the 4MB models, and 136MB for the 8MB models.

It supports a single display at a 1152 by 870 Pixel Resolution, but another one can be added using a Video Card.

Macintosh Centris 660AV

The Macintosh Centris 660AV was released on July 29, 1993, and had a 500MB Hard Drive.

It has a Motorola 68040 CPU at 25MHz with a integrated Floating Point Unit.

Also, it has 2MB of Macintosh ROM with 8MB of 72-pin RAM, which is expandable to 68MB by using two 32MB SIMM cards and the 4MB of onboard RAM.

It supports a single display at a 612 by 384 to 1152 by 870 Pixel Resolution on 8 or 16-bit color, but can support another one by using a compatible PDS or a Video Card.
