The Apple Trackpad is an multi-touch trackpad designed by Apple, similarly to the ones found inside portable notebook computers.


Magic Trackpad

The Magic Trackpad is a Multi-Touch Trackpad designed by Apple, and announced on July 27, 2010.

Two AA Batteries power the Magic Trackpad, and it connects wirelessly to computers via Bluetooth on Macs that are on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

It has a similar design to the Apple Wireless Keyboard, and is 80% larger than the touch bar of a 2017 MacBook.

Magic Trackpad 2

The Magic Trackpad 2 was released on October 13, 2015, and featured a new design.

It is compatible with Macs on Mac OS X El Capitan or later. It has a Matte glass surface that is capable of Force Touch, Multi-Touch, and has a Taptic Engine.

It has a Lithium-ion battery, which can be recharged using a Lightning Connector found on the back side.
